Week 1:

Session 1: Introduction to the German Language and Alphabet

  • German alphabet, pronunciation basics, and common sounds
  • Practice spelling simple words and names

Session 2: Basic Greetings and Introductions

  • Common greetings and polite expressions (Hallo, Guten Tag, Danke)
  • Introducing yourself and others (Ich heiße…, Wie geht’s?)
  • Role-play: Simple introductions in German

Week 2:

Session 1: Numbers and Counting in German

  • German numbers from 1 to 100
  • Counting objects and using numbers in daily situations
  • Practice exercises with real-life scenarios

Session 2: Days of the Week, Months, and Telling Time

  • Vocabulary for days, months, and time expressions
  • Asking and telling the time in German
  • Practice activities: Scheduling appointments

Week 3:

Session 1: Basic Vocabulary for Everyday Life – Part 1

  • Vocabulary related to family, friends, and relationships
  • Describing people: names, ages, family members
  • Speaking activity: Talking about your family

Session 2: Basic Vocabulary for Everyday Life – Part 2

  • Vocabulary for common places (home, school, work)
  • Describing locations and giving simple directions
  • Role-play: Asking for directions in German

Week 4:

Session 1: Simple Sentence Structures

  • Forming basic affirmative and negative sentences
  • Subject-verb-object structure in German
  • Practice exercises: Building simple sentences

Session 2: Asking and Answering Basic Questions

  • Question words: Wer (Who), Was (What), Wo (Where), Wann (When), Warum (Why), Wie (How)
  • Forming and answering simple questions
  • Group activity: Question-and-answer practice

 

Week 5:

Session 1: Vocabulary for Food and Dining

  • Common food items and restaurant vocabulary
  • Ordering food and drinks in German
  • Role-play: Dining out scenarios

Session 2: Shopping and Bargaining Vocabulary

  • Useful phrases for shopping in markets and stores
  • Asking about prices, quantities, and making purchases
  • Role-play: Shopping at a local market

Week 6:

Session 1: Describing Daily Routines

  • Vocabulary for daily activities (waking up, working, hobbies)
  • Talking about your routine using simple sentences
  • Pair work: Describing your typical day

Session 2: Common Expressions and Cultural Etiquette

  • Basic German idioms and common expressions
  • Understanding cultural norms in German-speaking countries
  • Discussion: Social etiquette and polite language

 

Week 7:

Session 1: Introduction to Basic Verbs and Tenses

  • Common regular verbs in the present tense
  • Conjugating verbs for “I,” “you,” “he/she” (Ich, Du, Er/Sie/Es)
  • Practice exercises with verbs in simple sentences

Session 2: Talking About Hobbies and Interests

  • Vocabulary related to hobbies, sports, and free time
  • Expressing likes, dislikes, and preferences
  • Speaking activity: Discussing personal interests

Week 8:

Session 1: Review of Key Vocabulary and Grammar

  • Recap of vocabulary, sentence structures, and key concepts
  • Group activities: Vocabulary games and conversation practice
  • Q&A session for clarifications

Session 2: Final Speaking Practice and Role-Play Activities

  • Role-playing real-life scenarios (greetings, shopping, daily routines)
  • Group discussions to practice fluency
