Day 1: Implementing Secure Authentication in Flutter & React Native

Session 1: Overview of Authentication in Mobile Apps

  • Understanding OAuth 2.0, Firebase Authentication, and Biometric Login.
  • Comparing native authentication vs. third-party authentication.
  • Common authentication security risks and threats.

Session 2: Implementing OAuth Authentication

  • Using Google and Facebook Sign-In in Flutter and React Native.
  • Implementing OAuth with Firebase Authentication.
  • Handling authentication tokens securely.

Session 3: Implementing Sign in with Apple

  • Understanding Apple’s authentication requirements.
  • Implementing Sign in with Apple in both Flutter and React Native.
  • Handling privacy and user data compliance.

Day 2: Biometric Authentication and Secure Storage

Session 1: Implementing Biometric Authentication (Face ID & Touch ID)

  • Introduction to LocalAuthentication API in Flutter.
  • Using React Native’s react-native-touch-id and react-native-fingerprint-scanner.
  • Handling fallback authentication for non-supported devices.

Session 2: Secure Storage of User Credentials

  • Storing authentication tokens using Secure Storage (Flutter) and AsyncStorage & SecureStore (React Native).
  • Implementing Keychain (iOS) and EncryptedSharedPreferences (Android).
  • Using JWT (JSON Web Tokens) for secure session management.

Session 3: Handling Logout and Session Expiry Securely

  • Managing user sessions and token refresh.
  • Implementing automatic logout on token expiration.
  • Securing logout mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access.

Day 3: Security Best Practices and Hands-On Project

Session 1: Securing API Communication

  • Using SSL Pinning to prevent Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacks.
  • Enforcing HTTPS communication with HSTS policies.
  • Preventing cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and request hijacking.

Session 2: Preventing Common Security Vulnerabilities

  • Protecting against SQL Injection and XSS attacks.
  • Implementing CAPTCHA and reCAPTCHA for bot protection.
  • Using ProGuard and code obfuscation techniques.

Session 3: Hands-On Project: Implementing Secure Authentication in a Real-World App

  • Integrating OAuth, Firebase Authentication, and biometric authentication.
  • Securing API calls with token-based authentication.
  • Debugging and testing security implementations.
